Farmland
Hood River County features rich volcanic soils, pure water, cool nights, and warm days. Thrive monitors land-use decisions so our working landscapes stay productive for the long term.
Protecting Hood River's farmland, forests, wild places, and the livability of its cities and rural communities — for over 40 years.
The Hood River Valley is a very desirable place to live, and it takes people who care to keep it thriving while protecting it from over-commercialization. Thrive works on four interlocking areas:
Hood River County features rich volcanic soils, pure water, cool nights, and warm days. Thrive monitors land-use decisions so our working landscapes stay productive for the long term.
Thrive is committed to protecting forests and fostering resilient woodlands by promoting compliance with regulations, reviewing and monitoring existing permits, and engaging in forest-planning processes.
We are surrounded by wild places created by geologic forces over millennia, but most special places are never fully protected. Thrive works to preserve and protect them — including the north side of Mt. Hood.
A livable community is great for all people and all ages to live, work, and play. Thrive works hard to ensure that for our community through advocacy, planning input, and citizen engagement.
Your generosity sustains Thrive''s work and has for over 40 years. Whether we are old friends or you have just heard of us, thank you for considering a tax-deductible contribution.
Make a tax-deductible one-time or recurring gift online to fund Thrive''s ongoing advocacy work in the Hood River Valley.
Part of Thrive''s mission is to ensure that Oregon''s land-use laws are doing their job. Legal action is never our first step, but when the stakes are high, Thrive steps up. Your donation ensures we never have to back down because of lack of resources.
Your gift supports Thrive''s operations far into the future. The endowment is managed by Gorge Community Foundation, with a portion of growth available to Thrive each year. Donations can come in any form — cash, stocks, or real estate.
Gifts of appreciated securities with unrealized gains may allow you to take a tax deduction while supporting Thrive''s work.
One of the simplest planned gifts is a bequest through your will or trust designating a specific dollar amount or percentage of your estate. You can also name Thrive as a beneficiary on bank accounts, CDs, appreciated securities, retirement plans, insurance policies, or real estate.
Thrive occasionally has projects for volunteers and welcomes your interest. Send a summary of your background and the type of work you would prefer to info@thrivehoodriver.org.
