About
A year-round home for Columbia Gorge giving.
GorgeGiving is a searchable, always-current directory of the nonprofits working in the Columbia River Gorge. Browse by cause, learn what each organization does, and follow the link straight to their donation page.
Our mission
To make it easy for Gorge residents to find and support the local nonprofits doing the work they care about — every day of the year, not just during the fall print cycle. Search by an interest ( “food banks”, “mountain rescue”, “children’s advocacy”) or browse by category, and connect with the organizations near you.
A digital companion to the Guide
Columbia Gorge News publishes the Gorge Giving Guide — a beloved print catalog profiling more than two hundred Gorge-area nonprofits and the causes they serve. It’s a wonderful snapshot, but within a few months the print copies have wandered off, listings have changed, and it’s no longer searchable when someone wants to give.
GorgeGiving is built as the year-round digital extension of that catalog. It carries forward the same content, adds search and category browsing, and lets each nonprofit keep their listing current between print editions. It’s free for donors to use and free for nonprofits to list.
Who’s behind it
GorgeGiving is an independent community project built by Matthew Roth, a Gorge resident who thought the area’s nonprofits deserved a digital directory. The site is not-for-profit, ad-free, and independently funded. Questions, corrections, or ideas? Email matthew@gorgegiving.org.
