Neighbor to Neighbor

A hand up — not a hand out. Emergency electric-bill assistance for Northern Wasco County PUD customers since 1990.

Program Overview

The Neighbor to Neighbor Program has been helping local customers facing temporary financial hardship pay their electric bills since 1990. Through donations from caring customers and employees, matched dollar-for-dollar by Northern Wasco County PUD, the program keeps the lights on for neighbors who fall through the cracks of other assistance programs.

One-Time Donations

Make a cash or check donation payable to 'Neighbor to Neighbor' and mail to 2345 River Road, The Dalles, OR 97058 — or drop in a payment box at the PUD office or the East 3rd Street location near City Hall.

Monthly Giving

Sign up to have a small amount automatically added to your PUD bill each month using the Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Form. Even $5 or $10 monthly makes a significant impact when combined with other donors.

Round your bill up to the nearest dollar — spare change adds up, and the difference goes directly to neighbors in crisis.

Community Fundraisers

Recurring fundraising opportunities include food drives, garage sales, Christmas Tree Raffles, and Christmas Wreath Raffles.
