The Foundation raises money for park, trail and recreation work that public budgets don't fully cover, in partnership with the Hood River Valley Parks & Recreation District.
A $2 million campaign for enhancements to the rebuilt Hood River Aquatic Center that the voter-approved bond won't cover. Options include a warm-water recreation pool, bleachers, an outdoor patio and splash pad, and large doors and windows that open the building to light and summer air. Pledges are being gathered through 2027 as construction begins.
Closing the missing gap in the Indian Creek Trail to make a continuous route of more than four miles from downtown Hood River to Barrett Park, including a safe route between Hood River Valley High School and Columbia Gorge Community College. A donated nine-acre corridor is now publicly owned, and the first campaign raised over $120,000 for design, engineering and permitting.
General support for building and improving trails across the Hood River Valley.
Gifts go to the Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) that is separate from the Parks & Recreation District.

Make checks payable to Hood River Valley Parks & Rec Foundation and mail them to PO Box 336, Hood River, OR 97031. For the pool campaign, write "Pool Rebuild" in the memo.
Pool campaign gifts can be pledged and paid over 2026 and 2027. Gifts of $5,000 or more will be recognized on a donor wall in the new aquatic center.
