Hood River County Christmas Project

Neighbors helping others since 1923 — gifts and food for families in need at Christmas.

Program Overview

Since 1923, families in need have received help at Christmas in Hood River County through the all-volunteer efforts of the Christmas Project. This all-volunteer organization works year-round to prepare for the holiday season.

Gifts for children

Children receive gifts to brighten the holiday month, drawn from community donations and volunteer-led collection drives.

Food support for families

Families receive food boxes and grocery gift cards to make the holidays brighter and reduce holiday food insecurity. In 2024 alone, more than 3,800 people received food and gifts through the program.

Giving Opportunities

Donations of any size help the Christmas Project continue its century-long tradition of helping Hood River County neighbors at Christmas.
