Recent exhibits, performances, and programs reflect the Museum's commitment to telling the Gorge's full story — across languages, generations, and traditions.
In 2025, the museum presented a special exhibit and speaker series about water sports in Hood River and the Gorge. We also opened a new Latino History exhibit, Nuestras Raíces, presented in Spanish with English interpretation. In September, our Timewinder Tales Poderosas! production shared the stories of four powerful Latina women from our community, performed bilingually.
We will continue bilingual presentations, with plans for a special quinceañera exhibit. We are also planning a youth speaker series to give local young people a chance to express their hopes for our community and country. This will complement our temporary exhibit, The Pursuit of Happiness, capturing the heart of festivals, events, and celebrations across the state, with photos by Peter Marbach.
The cost of storing and caring for the museum's collection, owned by Hood River County, has become a large financial burden for the Hood River County Heritage Council. Please consider a membership, donation, or sponsorship to help keep our local history alive for future generations.
