CultureSeed provides year-round connection to nature, self, and others, for our youth and communities to thrive.

Vision

We envision a thriving community where every young person has abundant opportunities to connect with nature, meaningful relationships that empower self-discovery, and a network of support that ensures a sense of belonging.

About

CultureSeed’s mission is to provide year-round connection to nature, self, and others, for our youth and communities to thrive. We serve youth, ages 13-18 in rural communities of Klickitat and Skamania, WA. We believe that connection and belonging is essential to youth mental health and overall wellbeing. It has been widely proven that time spent outdoors can improve mental health outcomes for youth and adults alike. Our goal is to support our participants in establishing the tools they need to continue enjoying the outdoors as a place for rest, recreation, and taking care of their mental health into adulthood. We do this through three interconnected programs, Peer Circles, Outdoor Immersion, and Junior Guides. Our programs use evidence-based frameworks to build connection and belonging in the outdoors. From low barrier activities such as wildflower watercoloring to the high adventure of skiing our youth are able to experience a variety of outdoor activities. We focus on the depth and quality of the connection and experience. Once youth join our program they are welcome to stay until graduation, on average 95% of youth choose to return year after year!
