Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers

The unified voice for pear, apple, and cherry growers across the five-county Mid-Columbia region.

Program Overview

CGFG serves as a unified voice for fruit growers — advocating for research-based agricultural policies, providing industry insights and collective resources, supporting growers through information exchange, and gathering statistical data to inform industry-wide analysis.

Educational Training & Workshops

Workforce development courses in Spanish and English to increase on-farm health and safety practices and horticultural knowledge — including First Aid/CPR, pesticide safety, supervisory skills and leadership, and soil and water management.

Living Among Orchards

CGFG publishes and distributes a written guide for those living in, moving to, or visiting the Gorge — covering the yearly schedule of orchard activities, what to expect to see and hear, and what people need to know when living among commercial agricultural operations.

Migrant Farmworker Programs

Support for migrant farmworkers, including summer school programs for children during the summer harvest season.

College Scholarships

Scholarship funding for the children of CGFG members and orchard employees as they work toward higher education.

Agricultural Research

CGFG supports local scientists and researchers investigating innovative horticultural practices — new fruit varieties, irrigation, pest control, technology in the field, and post-harvest storage of fruit.

Giving Opportunities

Donations to CGFG support research, education, and farmworker programs that strengthen the Mid-Columbia tree fruit industry.

Direct Donations

Cash or check payments payable to Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers, mailed to PO Box 168, Odell, OR 97044. Designate gifts to support educational training, the Living Among Orchards guide, migrant farmworker programs, scholarships, or agricultural research.
