Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation

Making higher education and workforce training attainable for more students in the Columbia Gorge — nearly $200,000 in scholarships awarded each year.

Program Overview

The Foundation exists to make higher education and workforce training attainable for more students in the Columbia Gorge — especially those who might not otherwise imagine a college experience.

Student Scholarships

Each year, the Foundation stewards and awards nearly $200,000 in scholarships that help cover tuition, books, and fees — so students can focus on learning rather than on how to pay their next bill. Scholarships recognize financial need and student promise, supporting people returning to school, first-generation students, and those preparing for in-demand careers.

Programs & Facilities

Beyond scholarships, the Foundation invests in college programs and facilities that expand opportunity for the entire region — including the new regional workforce skills center and student residence hall in The Dalles, which provide hands-on training space and affordable housing for rural and commuting students.

Healthcare Simulation Lab

The Foundation recently helped launch CGCC''s brand-new Healthcare Simulation Lab — already up and running to help nursing students get the best education possible. Foundation partnerships continue to strengthen career-technical education across the college.

Strategic Priorities

Expand fundraising and financial sustainability; enhance students'' access to resources that enable success; strengthen community and corporate partnerships; develop Foundation and board capacity. Guided by open communication, respect, integrity, collaboration, and equity and inclusion.

In 2025, the tournament generated $30,000 for student scholarships. Businesses can participate through sponsorships at various levels, in-kind donations, and employee teams.

Planned Gifts

Bequests or beneficiary designations sustain the Foundation''s mission over time while aligning with personal financial and estate plans. Many supporters also give through employer matching programs or workplace campaigns.
